Silver Anchor Ceramics — ceramics and workshops

Silver Anchor Ceramics runs a ceramics studio and small shop where Thessaloniki makers want wheel time, glaze tests, and finished pieces that survive dishwasher scepticism at home.

First-time guests in Thessaloniki should mention silveranchor when booking Silver Anchor Ceramics so notes reach the right bench.

Since 2014 the kiln schedule is posted weekly — no mystery firing dates. Greenware dries on labelled shelves; students mark initials on every bowl before bisque.

Established 2014, the studio keeps ceramics work on Leoforos Nikis 31 with English-language intake for visitors across Greece.

In Thessaloniki

Workshops cover throwing basics, handbuilding for beginners, and glaze mixing with ventilation rules explained before powders open. Children under fourteen may not attend wheel classes with active motors.

Retail shelves show studio seconds with honest chips marked — not hidden at the back. Custom tableware quotes need four weeks minimum for glaze compatibility tests Reach us at [email protected].

Clay is recycled through a pug mill when scraps allow; water settles in buckets before drain disposal following local studio guidelines in Greece.

Open studio hours let returning students practice without instruction — bookable in two-hour blocks when wheels are free.

We do not sell mass-imported mugs alongside student work without labelling origin — transparency at the shelf edge.

We describe firings and classes before you carry a leather-hard piece on a bumpy bus ride across Thessaloniki.

Materials for counter timing are quoted before ceramics labour begins and step-free access questions welcomed ahead of arrival. Plain English intake — no generator jargon on the ticket

Our ceramics desk explains counter timing before tools leave the shelf with scope confirmed on paper before work starts. City regulars know the door note is current.
